The Law Society is a solicitor's governing body. Through the panels and controls it has set up it can regulate the quality of practice of solicitors in England and Wales. A practice which has been audited and proven to maintain high standards can be awarded a status and rights accordingly.

In family and children work the Law society have examined us and granted us specialist accreditation.

• We hold a Legal Aid Franchise and a Legal Aid Family Franchise. This means that we are accredited and regularly audited by the Legal Services Commission for quality control.

• Our Legal Aid Franchise is effectively a badge of quality awarded by the Legal Services Commission that our office procedures, checked by them annually, operate to high standards. We have had this since 1977.

• Our membership of the Law Society's Family Panel is an accreditation in all matters of Family Law and we have held this since January 199 when the panel was first opened.

• Our membership of the Law Society's Children's Panel is a recognition by our professional body after proper examination that we have specialist status in matters affecting children. We have held this since the practice was set up.

• We are also a member of the Solicitors Family Law Association which is committed to the resolution of family disputes as amicably as possible.
